Cheryl is keen to instill a creative confidence in the community and is available as a confident, enthusiastic workshop leader in London and the South East.

There is a lack of creative opportunities for older people in the UK and Sounds Like...is hoping to develop projects for the over 65’s in the future. Cheryl previously worked at Help the Aged for more than three years on the Healthy Ageing Programme and is keen to use music as a tool of improving wellbeing amongst the ageing population.

Cheryl currently works across the South East as a workshop leader and is heavily involved in the Wider Opportunities government scheme, providing creative musical opportunities to Key Stage 2 pupils (7-11 year olds) on a variety of instruments.

Examples of recent workshops include:
Junk Percussion Workshops for Year 9 Arts Award students at Hillview School for Girls, 2010 and 2011. Hear the results!

“Thank you for doing the workshop with us. I enjoyed performing the pieces.”

"We all thoroughly enjoyed the African drumming workshop at the JLC - the children had fun and so did the adults!  The drumming gave the kids a chance to relax after the tension of the competition, and after spending weeks learning the Zulu language it was great for them to experience another side to African culture.  By the end of the session there were more children wanting to get involved than we had instruments!!  Thanks Cheryl - see you next year!"
